Pregnant woman was shot and killed on Muckleshoot land

On Oct. 21, King County Police shot and killed 23-year-old Renee Davis on Muckleshoot reservation.

The police received a call from a concerned friend who received a troubling text from Davis.

“They [the deputies] tried repeatedly to get somebody to come to the door, nobody did. They could see the two kids running around inside the house,” King County Sheriff Sergeant Cindi West told KOMO news.

King County police say they arrived at the house to find Davis holding a gun. According to The News Tribune, the officers fired several shots into the home, hitting Davis. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

The cause for the shooting is still unknown. Records regarding this situation are currently not available as the investigation is still pending.

According to KOMO news, the two officers involved are currently on paid administrative leave while detectives investigate.

“We don’t want to hinder the private investigation that is why we are asking that no one talk to the press/media.” Sherina Sam stated on a Facebook post regarding questions about Davis’ case.

Friends described Davis as kind and gentle and claim she wasn’t violent.

Davis’ sister, Daniella Bargala, was unaware that Davis had a gun. Burgala knew she had a hunting rifle and said her sister loved to hunt.

“It’s really upsetting because this was a wellness check,” Bargala told The News Tribune. “Obviously, she didn’t come out of it well.”

Davis’ family say they don’t know where all three of children are going to stay.

“The tribe currently has nothing to add at this moment,” Rollin Flatland, Muckleshoot tribe’s spokesperson stated.
