Presidential candidate Donald Trump grabs them by the what?
A recently leaked video of Presidential candidate Donald Trump in 2005 revealed he openly discussed sexually harassing women. Today, a number of women have come forth to accuse Trump of sexual assault as a result.
The New York Times has also released a report about two women who claimed that Trump had touched them inappropriately.
In the second presidential debate, Anderson Cooper asked Trump about the clip. He said that he never actually followed through with the actions. “Nobody has more respect for women than I do,” said Trump. After Cooper asked, “Have you done those things?” Trump simply replied by saying, “No, I have not.”
“I think that Trump was just saying what the people wanted to hear, without listening to what people have to say. He’s just a nut job running for president,” said Tacoma local, Michael Chappelle.
Jessica Leeds, a woman who is claiming Trump sexually assaulted her, met Trump more than thirty years ago while sitting beside him in a first class cabin. Leeds claimed that they’ve never met before, and forty five minutes after takeoff, he tried to grab her chest and slide his hand up her skirt. “He was like an octopus,” she told The New York Times. “His hands were everywhere.”
Leeds didn’t want to go to the media about this until Trump denied the allegations during the debate.
“No guy should ever think that it’s okay to grab women like that.” UW Tacoma student Najma Ali said. “Especially without her permission.”
In 2005, 22-year-old Rachel Crooks was a receptionist in Manhattan when she met Trump in an elevator. She knew that her company was doing business with Trump, so she turned to introduce herself. They shook hands, but reportedly he did not let go. Crooks told The New York Times that he “kissed me directly on the mouth.” He also asked for her number, telling her he wanted to give it to a modeling agency.
Crooks told her sister and boyfriend about the event that day. They both confirmed her story, even though Trump has denied this.
Trump is also facing a lawsuit claiming he raped a 13-year-old at a 1994 orgy. The orgy was allegedly hosted by Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire who was convicted in 2008 for soliciting an underage girl for prostitution. Epstein has also been accused of having sex with over 30 underage girls. The accusation was filed against Trump in April 2016. The lawsuit was filed by a woman who called herself “Katie Johnson,” to keep her identity anonymous. She claimed when she was 13, Epstein lead her to his apartment and he claimed he could provide her with a modeling career and money. At four of those parties in 1994, Johnson claims that Trump had sex with her and raped her in a “savage sexual attack”.
Johnson has not made herself available for interviews. Anna Merlan, writer for Jezebel, has tried to reach out to her but was turned down. The California address that was given in the lawsuit belonged to a foreclosed house that no one lived in.
