Located on Market Street in downtown Tacoma, the Tacoma Comedy Club has provided entertainment for local residents since 2010. The Tacoma Comedy Club recently had their five-year anniversary on Oct. 15th.
Tacoma Comedy Club makes a point of bringing people of excellent quality in both its comedians and its atmosphere. The club has employed many well-known comedians. Comedians such as Jon Lovitz, Ralphie May, Chris Titus, Caroline Rhea, and many more have performed at the club. All types of humor are expressed. Crude, ironic, satirical, and many more are shown. So people who enjoy different types of humor can enjoy the shows.
The club is no stranger to famous celebs. According to co-owner Adam Norwest, MMA fighter Meisha Tate, and Seattle Seahawks player Jon Ryan have shown up at the club before. Besides the celebrities, other interesting events have happened there as well. According to Norwest, there have been six marriage proposals at the club. He even told me that a lot of people who had their first date at the club are now married.
If you do end up going to the club and want to try your hand at comedy, Tacoma Comedy Club offers an open mic night on Wednesdays at 8 pm with free admission. Why not give it a go? Who knows, you might be a gifted comedian in the making! Though, after 8 pm you have to be over 18, and after 10 pm you have to be over 21, to join in on the laughs.
The next show will run from Dec. 3rd to 6th, and features Rebecca Corry. Corry is not only known for her comedy but also for her role in stopping pit bull violence. She is the founder of the Stand Up For Pits Foundation which fights against the discrimination and abuse of pit bulls. On Dec. 6th she’ll be featuring an event at the Tacoma Comedy Club for her Stand Up For Pits Foundation. During this time, people will be given the chance to learn more about the foundation and the chance to adopt a pit bull.
